Nashville fun
We decided this past spring break to take the kids to Nashville. While it seems to be aimed towards adult weekend getaways, we found plenty of things to do with the kids!
Where to eat:
Hattie B’s was a highly recommended stop and we really enjoyed it! We went late in the evening and only waited about 15-20 minutes to get it. If you get a table by the window you can watch all the different people go by.
Biscuit love was top on the list. Many people have warned the line can get long but I think luck was on our side this week. We also went during the weekday so that helped!
Martin’s BBQ. If there is one place I would happily eat everyday while there, it was Martin’s. The food was delicious and just what you’re looking for when it comes to BBQ.
Aquarium restaurant in Opry Mills. While it’s a “touristy” place, if you’re looking for a fun restaurant to take the kids this is great. Having a large aquarium tank in the middle of the restaurant was something the kids had never experienced before.
What to do:
Nashville zoo gave us such a unique experience of walking in the kangaroo exhibit and being up close! We even got to see a momma kangaroo with a baby in her pouch! There are a lot of exhibits and even a zip line attraction if your kids seem thrills like mine.
Opry mills shopping center is a great stop for shopping. There are plenty of restaurants and stores to see. The kids found the Bass Pro Shop so fascinating! There is a fish tank in the middle of the store and also a lot of taxidermy animals on display.
Nashville farmers market has a variety of shops and food options to choose from. We enjoyed their ramen and the hand rolled sushi. My kids would tell you their favorite was the Japanese fruit.
Broadway street. Hear me out, most of the bars/restaurants allow families before 5pm. This gives everyone a chance for some snacks, drinks and live music. One of the nights we had Hattie B’s in the evening so the kids could see the signs lit up and hear the bands! The people on Broadway were friendly and nothing too crazy for them.
Centennial Park and The Parthenon need to be added to your list! Let the kids explore and run around. Challenge them to find the bench that was dedicated to Taylor Swift. Purchase tickets to go inside The Parthenon if you’d like a more in depth look otherwise you can visit outside and marvel at the structure.
Comment your recommendations below! And let me know if you do visit!
