Monday, we meet again

Image
Hi all, Many people dislike Monday's. While I don't love Monday's, I also don't mind them. Something about feeling like you can start the week over and that the possibilities are endless, gets me through Monday. Some would choose to have Monday's off; I'd rather have Wednesday's off. It breaks up your week and somehow makes you feel so productive. Now whether I use that time to be productive or not, is another story. I do miss having Wednesday's off. Anyhow, I wanted to present you guys with a recipe you could whip up in 20 minutes, and it would brighten up your week. Noah loves this recipe. When I tell him it's chicken and noodles I'm not even lying this time! You could substitute the ground chicken for grilled chicken, shrimp, tofu, or do veggies and noodles. This recipe yields leftovers, yay for packed lunch! Penny would prefer this recipe to have rice instead of noodles. Get creative and use whatever you have on hand or what y...

Vanishing toast

Hi all, I'm back to the recipe business. Have you missed it? I have a few travel post I'm working on, but I'm going to try and focus on food for the next two weeks. How many of you have recipes that perhaps you save for the weekend? Something like pancakes may not seem feasible during the week, so it turns to a Sunday treat! My peeps at home like French toast. Noah especially likes it with chicken tenders.  When we went to Florida, we were so happy to be able to visit Discovery Cove. That was a blast. Anyhow, for breakfast, they had French toast sticks, and I fell in love. I'm more of a pancake person. However, I went back for seconds; the only thing that stopped me from getting more was the fact that we were starting the day. I decided to try and recreate those French toast sticks. I wanted the option to make extra and freeze it so that I could indulge during the week. This recipe has very few ingredients and comes together in less than 15 minutes. Pe...

Hakuna Matata

Hi all, I'm still over here daydreaming about our most recent trip to Disney world . I have a list of days I'd love to visit on (such as thanksgiving), and I figured that I would create another list for you all. This list is meant to give you a glance at some of the best tips that I have followed each time we have visited Disney.  Fast pass- Make sure you get a fast pass to the rides that have long wait times. The fast pass allows you to skip the line at a later time.  DON'T get them for:   The teacups, A small world, Muppet Vision 3D, Gran fiesta tour, triceratop spin, The seas with Nemo and friends.  DO get them for:  Star Wars millennium falcon, Slinky dog dash, and Tower of Terror, Kilimanjaro safari, Na' vi river journey, Avatar flight of passage, and expedition Everest, Frozen ever after, Test track, and Soarin, Seven dwarfs mine trail, Big thunder mountain railroad, and Splash mountain. While Jedi Training doesn't require a ...

Packing for disney

Image
Going to Disney is always my favorite. I could be there forever. Unfortunately, my vacation time and wallet wouldn't allow for that. Anyhow, I wanted to take a minute to talk about what to pack for Disney. I find it helpful to make a list to go off of and then on the day we leave, I go through the list and check off what we have.  A reusable water bottle: some people are unaware that you can get free ice water at almost all of the quick-service food locations in the Disney parks. When you're going in a large group, and you're spending $5 on bottled water, that can add up pretty quickly. Take advantage of the free water! I found reusable character water bottles on clearance at Meijer for us. Along with the free water, Disney allows you to bring in food and drinks; this could be another way to save money. You can't bring in a cooler; however, you could bring in a lunch box with ice packs to store your items. T...
